What dotted collects
Nothing. dotted has no account, no sign-up, and no server that I operate. I do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any of your information.
Everything you log — periods, symptoms, notes, predictions — is stored only on your device, in a database that is encrypted at rest. It never leaves your phone unless you choose to export it yourself.
No tracking, no ads, no analytics
dotted contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers of any kind. There is no advertising ID, no usage tracking, and no crash-reporting that sends your data anywhere.
Your data, exported by you
You can export an encrypted backup file (a .dotted file) protected by a passphrase you choose, or a plain-text JSON copy of your data. These files are created on your device and shared only through whatever method you pick (AirDrop, Files, email to yourself, etc.). I am never involved and never receive them. If you lose your passphrase, an encrypted backup cannot be recovered.
You can also permanently delete all of your data at any time from Settings → Delete everything.
Notifications
Reminders (period, phase, pill, etc.) are scheduled locally on your device. No notification is sent through any server.
Tips / In-app purchases
If you choose to leave an optional tip, the payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. I never see your payment details. Tips are optional and unlock nothing — dotted is fully free.

dotted's predictions are estimates, not contraception and not medical advice, and dotted cannot diagnose any condition. For health concerns, please talk to a qualified clinician.
Children
dotted is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone (it collects no information at all).
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
